Created as a means to hedge against any disruption in the wholesale hemp extracts market, Hidden Lake became well positioned within western Montana as a premium outdoor themed hemp company.
Iron Light came in with the expressed goal of creating an outdoor Montana themed product that minimized added ingredients in order to attain a clean label. Consultations started with a review of the most popular hemp product categories at a time and then a review of the most popular flavors and flavor combinations for ingestible products and hemp extract content rates in the industry.
The initial products developed included 4 flavored tincture, essential oil rollers, roll on cream and a shea butter based lotion. All the products maximized the use of natural ingredients and were able to feature a clean label.
While the products were being formulated, the brand was built with a focus on e-commerce sales outside of Montana and wholesale distribution within Western Montana. A website, logo, marketing materials and ad campaigns were created, launched and managed.
In the end, Hidden Lake was acquired as part of a larger acquisition transaction but maintain monthly units sales in excess of 1,000 units.
